  1. Kia ora Cordell,
That cakes looks awesome, how did it taste? I am like you and love licking the icing, I normally get in trouble from my wife when she makes chocolate chip cookies as I always eat the dough before it is cooked.
Here is a recipe my son loves to make and has made four times since we have been learning at home.

    HALF HOUR CHOCOLATE STEAMED PUDDING.
    1 cup flour,
2 tbsp Cocoa, 2 tsp cream of tartar,
    1 tsp baking
    soda,
    Milk to mix.
    Sauce: 50g butter,
    4 cup sugar,
    4 cup brown sugar,
    2 tsp golden syrup,
    1 small cup boiling water,
Mix the flour, cream of tartar, soda and cocoa together with milk.
Place in greased pudding basin. Pour over it the sauce mixture.
Steam for 1 hour with lid on saucepan, but no cover on basin.

It is really nice especially with ice cream or whipped cream.
    Nga mihi,

  2. Hi Cordell,

Banana cake is my favorite and yours looks so delicious. It's nice to know that you enjoy working in the kitchen with your mum. I really enjoy it when my children help me too. What will you be making next?
